Gratitude Challenge with Henriette from Holland

I received this gratitude challenge on Facebook where one needs to list down 3 thankful things everyday for 5 days.  I think it's a good idea to give thanks everyday, to remind myself to be content and grateful for things I have.

Then I thought of bringing the game to another level... on postcards!  Honestly sometimes I run out of ideas what to write.  Well, normally I write about myself and what I like doing.  But after like a hundred card, I kinda got bored writing about that.  And so happen a fellow postcrosser from Holland is interested in direct swap and I challenged her to do this for our swap.  These are the cards I sent out.  So looking forward for ones I'm gonna receive! ^^  Can't wait!

Henriette received all her cards by 04/10/2014.  Can't wait for hers to arrive! ^^

“Hello, I received your last 3 cards today, how nice, what a great idea to share gratitudes. I'm grateful for you sharing this idea and the nice traditional postcards with me.

Posted my last one yesterday, so soon you should have my 5 cards too.

Glad to hear you like the envelope with the European postcards too.

Impressing, the women with the heavy weights in their ears.

Have a great weekend,
Bye Henriette”

“Hi!Thank you for the postcard showing the boy in sarawak.

I hope I can visit your city someday.

PS看見你寫中文我才知道
原來馬來西亞人不但會說中文,還會寫中文!
這讓我太驚訝了!!@ @
真的很開心^0^

Best wishes and the best of luck to you.

Lynn”

#116 Postcard Sent - MY-222332

Decided to send Henriette this card due to her liking of "natives in their traditional clothing/environment"

Henriette received her card on 13.09.2014

“hi, thx for the beautiful postcard, that was a real gift in my mailbox. When I receive a card from Malaysia it's often the modern city, but I like the kind of pictures of your card so much better!
Your quote-writing looks like Chinese, I thought Indonesia and Malaysia shared almost the same language, but then it are huge countries.”

Fumiko is fond of handmade cards so I thought handmaking one using old stamps I collected during my childhood, many of which were seasonal stamps.  My last handmade postcard was damaged with rain, so this one i waterproofed it with a layer of mod podge and I think I need a new brush.  Hehe.

Fumiko received it on 23/09/2014 ^^
“Dear Sheen,
Thank you for your super lovely handmade post card! Did I spell your name right? I hope I did. Sometimes a piece of post card tell a lot about the sender. I could seemore than shoes/he wrote reading between lines. It's also nice to know you're a barista as I'm coffee addicted. My husband is from Brazil and he makes wonderful coffee, too. I appreciate your special efforts to make such an elaborated card for me. I'd like to send my Thank You card,so please let me know your address,if you don't mind.
Fumiko, JollieLyla
I'm looking forward to reading your profile.”

Wow!! A Naval Curtiss bombing plane at Fort McNair (1922)!! And check out the plane stamps! Love them so much! This led me to google about Curtiss planes and learn a little about Glenn H. Curtiss, the father of naval aviation.
